GE Appliances May No Longer Exist -Business Spins Off

GE today announced that it plans on spinning off its Consumer and Industrial businesses into a new company. This spin off will include the GE appliances, Lighting and Industrial systems divisions. What this will mean for the long standing GE lightbulb, toasters, refigerators, microwaves and stoves is yet to be seen. My understanding is that the new company created will retain the rights to use the GE name on their appliances, lightbulbs and motors. How long they will be able to sell products using the GE name is yet to be know. Perhaps one of America’s oldest brand name appliance will no longer exist. What will we do without the well know GE refrigerator, stove, or toaster in our kitchens? It will be interesting to see how this impacts the reputation and quality of appliances, light bulbs and other products that have been produced by these GE divisions for year.

Indianapolis Colts , Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears Oh My

Fort wayne Indiana happens to be in the North east corner of Indiana. When I first moved up here I was and still am a die hard Indianapolis Colts fan, however many in the are are not. Fort Wanye happens to be surrounded by nfl football teams. Not only do we have the Indianapolis Colts to our south, but the Chicago Bears, who the Colts stomped by the way are just to our northwest. In addition to the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Bears, we also have the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns all within driving distance not that anyone would actually want to pass up a Colts game to go see the Browns or Lions. Now this many nfl teams might confuse the normal football fan and make them wishy washy about who they root for but not me. I’m full blow Indianapolis Colts fan all the way. I wear an Indianpolis Colts hat everyday, keep Indianapolis Colts screen savers and wallpaper on both my work and home computers. Oh and you can’t forget my huge collection of Indianapolis Colts coffee mugs and beer steins. Heck I even go to a doctor that has one of the patient rooms completely decked out in Colts fan fair. He’d like to think he’s a bigger Colts fan than I am but I’d have to argue that one. No matter which nfl team you decide is your favorite you can rest assured that Payton Manning and the gang will run them over this year :).

Indianapolis Colts Tickets Good As Gold

Indianapolis Colts Fans that were planning on buying single season game tickets this year are out of luck. The returning Super Bowl champions regulars season tickets are already sold out. I was hoping to be able to grab up a couple Colts tickets this year. I thought with the new Lucas Oil Stadium there might be a few nose bleed tickets still available however I was wrong. For those that are interested there are a limited number of preseason Indianapolis Colts Tickets on sale through the ticket office. If you happen to be an Indianapolis Colts Season Ticket holder your sitting on a gold mine. Ticket prices on ebay , ticketmaster and other online ticket auctions are going throught the roof. I couldn’t afford to buy an Indianapolis Colts ticket now if I wanted too. Oh well I’ll settle for watching the games in the comfort of my own home on my new big screen HDTV. While nothing can quite compare to going to watch a live Indianapolis Colts game this is the second best in my opinion. Just in case there happens to be an Indianapolis Colts season ticket holder out there that wants to take pity on me and sell a Colts ticket at a reasonable price shoot me an email :). Heck if any Colts rivals out there that might be interested in selling tickets to an away game I might even consider those. Since I doubt I’ll get any takers its time to stop writing about it and start registering to win Indianapolis Colts tickets where ever I can find a contest.

The midsummer fire festival began on Jun21st. This is one of the many unique festivals that take place in the World of Warcraft online game. The Happening, Mark Wahlberg Shouldn’t Have

I went to my local Rave theatre this weekend to see “The Happening”. I was intrigued by some of the previews of the movie I had seen earlier in the week and casually mentioned to my daughter that I wouldn’t mind seeing “The Happening”. This triggered my daughter into oooh It’s Father’s Day mode so she treated me to a night at the movies. We took the evening and had dinner at the Outback just down the road from the Jefferson Point Rave Theater. After dinner we proceeded to the movie theater for a nice evening. The movie started out pretty cool with mysterious happenings going on starting in Central Park and spreading throughout the East coast cities. The movie theater was quite packed and gasps, sighs, and laugh were present throughout the entire movie adding to the movie going atmosphere. There were several parts in the movie that were very graphic. The movie had you wondering all the time exactly what was happening and why with all the mass suicides. Overall the acting by star Mark Wahlberg and others was sub par in my opinion. The movie wasn’t the worst I have ever seen but was far from the best movie. The worst part of the movie was the ending. I had a sneaky suspicion throughout the movie as to how it was going to end and I was right. It was a tree hugger, environmentalist, attempt at bringing a warning to the movie going public. Now I don’t mind movies with a point or a moral, but I do have a problem with people trying to instill fear into people over the environment. So my overall take of the move is that you’ll love it if your an global warming, man is destroying the environment type of person, otherwise I’d say its a movie you definitely can just wait for it to hit DVD.

Will Anheuser-Busch Stock Rise Like Gas Prices?

After the closing bell on Wall Street today, Anheuser-Busch received an offer of $65 per share buy out offer from Belgium Brewer InBev. This is a very handsome offer considering the Anheuser-Busch stock closed at $58.35. I’m not sure about you but if Anheuser-Busch should happen to take up InBev on their offer the beer makers stock will raise faster than gas prices. Anheuser-Busch produces some of the most recognized beers on the market today. Their offerings include Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob Light and dark beers, Rolling Rock and many others. Anheuser-Busch is the leading U.S. brewer and industry leader since 1957, with more than 100 brands and 12 U.S. breweries. Anheuser-Bush is so popular without their commercials I’d doubt there would even be a super bowl. We’ll have to wait and see how this huge buyout offer turns out. $44 billion would be a tough chunk of change to turn down.
This is just the latest American Icon Company involved in potential sale or spin-offs. Last Month General Electric had announced the desire to sell off its 100-year-old appliances business to provide more stockholder value in the GE stock. Potential buyers for the GE Appliances business include LG, Haier, Arcelik and a couple others. GE has hinted at the possibility that it might be considering selling other GE businesses as well.

Derby Girls Want You Now - Tryouts Being Held

The Derby girl’s roller derby team of Fort Wayne is seeking recruits to join the team mid season with the rest of the Derby Girls. Tryouts are Tuesday, June 24 from 6-8 pm at the PLEX. The Fort Wayne Derby Girls whose slogan is ” were the women your mother warned you about” are desperately seeking new talent to join them on tour. The Derby Girls tryouts will be held the same place as their regular home events are held: The PLEX on California drive. Just bring your kneepads, helmet, elbow pads and have course your skates and show the Derby Girls what you have to offer. The roller Derby Girls are in need of regular business type women that hold down jobs as well as the rough and tumble type man-eaters to help them compete throughout the Midwest. The minimum requirements to try out for the Derby Girls are as follows:
Skaters must meet the following requirements:

- Female
- At least 18 yrs of age
- Have current health insurance
- Be willing to skate up to 3 times a week
- Supply own gear (skates, knee/elbow pads, wrist/mouth guards and helmet)

Indianapolis Colts Help Out Flood Victims

The Indianapolis Colts today announced that they would help assist the many flood victims of Indiana. Indiana has been hard hit with thunderstorms and floods over the last week and many victims remain homeless. The are Indianapolis Colts are hosting the first-ever “Fan Fests,” a group of colts fan events featuring free concerts by artist Jon McLaughlin. The Indianapolis Colts are encouraging all colts fans to make donations to the red cross and will be matching up to $10,000 per each Fan Fest. The Indianapolis Colts much like many of the NFL teams has been highly involved in the community and it’s great to see them take the lead in this fund raising. You can participate by attending the Indianapolis Colt Fan Fest near you and helping the cause. At these events you can expect to get Autographed Indianapolis Colts Pictures, meet and get Indianapolis Colts Cheerleader photos and posters. If you are unable to attend I’m sure you can go to the Indianapolis Colts official website for details on making donations. While there don’t forget to show your support for our NFL team and pick up your Indianapolis Colts Wallpaper and Cheerleader Wallpaper. Samuel Israel Missing Is It Suicide?

Samuel Israel III has gone missing but his car remained behind On a NY bridge with “Suicide is Painless” written on the hood. Samuel Israel was in serious legal trouble and expected to serve a 20yr sentence for illegally handling a hedge fund. I don’t know about you but I can’t imagine any legal trouble worth ending your life over. While spending time in jail doesn’t appeal to me by any means, I’m sure I could spend 20yrs looking for the right lawyer to get me out of my legal troubles. I must admit though I did get pretty depressed over my legal problems when I had to file bankruptcy, but never contemplated going to the extreme that Samuel Israel might have gone too. Heck if you had twenty years why not spend it doing something worth while like oh I don’t know maybe becoming a lawyer and helping others that are experiencing legal issues. Maybe becoming a lawyer isn’t up your alley, but with the amount of time you would have on your hands, I’m sure you could find something new to learn. The legal system today has given convicts plenty of educational options to purse while waiting out their sentence.
Despite my feelings on the matter there are plenty of people that find themselves in financial and legal problems everyday that believe they have no alternative but to end their lives. I hope this man’s note to the world doesn’t cause others to avoid getting an attorney and facing up to their legal and financial responsibilities. Can you imagine if everyone that was getting sued, sentenced to a crime or filing for bankruptcy were to commit suicide? Heck the all the lawyers would be out of business. Hmm, maybe not such a bad idea after all.
